ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 40W Bi-Color Portable LED Video Light
Our Verdict
I recently spent two weeks putting the ZHIYUN FIVERAY M40 to the test during various field shoots to see if its small footprint compromises its output. As a creator who frequently travels light, I was curious to see how this 40W panel handles extended sessions and real-world lighting demands.
Performance & Build Quality
The build quality is surprisingly robust, featuring an advanced DynaVort cooling system that keeps the unit stable despite its diminutive size. The integration of high-quality materials and internal fans allows for consistent performance without the risk of overheating during longer, high-intensity shoots.
Day-to-Day Experience
Using the M40 in the field feels intuitive thanks to the dual-wheel control system for brightness and color temperature. I was particularly impressed by the PD fast charging, which meant I could top off the battery between setups in minutes rather than hours.
This light is perfect for run-and-gun videographers and solo creators who prioritize portability without sacrificing brightness.
Final Thoughts
The FIVERAY M40 earns its impressive 4.91 rating by delivering exactly what it promises in a convenient package. At $199.00, it is a smart investment for anyone looking to upgrade their portable lighting kit with reliable, professional-grade technology.
